Butamax and Highwater Ethanol install a Novel Corn Oil Separation Technology
Butamax™ Advanced Biofuels LLC and Highwater Ethanol LLC have begun to retrofit Highwater’s ethanol plant in Minnesota for the production of biobutanol. The technology package will include the installation of novel corn oil separation technology. Installation of the separation system has commenced with commercial production expected this winter. Butamax CEO Paul Beckwith said "We pave the way for near-term, large-scale isobutanol production.” Highwater Ethanol CEO, Brian Kletscher added, “We move to negotiations for biobutanol production.” Additionally, Butamax has reached agreement with Fagen Inc. for the engineering, procurement, and construction of this project and as part of Butamax’s vision for roll-out of its full biobutanol production technology.
